Each week, I’ll be bringing you suggestions on good plays for DFS games on Fan Duel (FD) and Draft Kings (DK). Here are my targets for Week 10
Blake Bortles $7,800 FD $5,600 DK- It seems strange to recommend Blake Bortles, but he has quietly put together a solid sophmore season and draws a premium matchup against a depleted Baltimore Ravens team. Keep an eye on Allen Hurns’s foot injury, but regardless, Bortles is a top play this week.
Kirk Cousins $6,500 FD $5,200 DK- Another quarterback difficult to recommend but nevertheless one who is drawing a great matchup is Washington’s Kirk Cousins. Streaming quarterbacks against the awful New Orleans Saints defense has been a viable strategy. Cousins is squarely in play not only because this is a home game for Washington but also because of DeSean Jackson’s return to action.
Aaron Rodgers $9,200 FD $7,500 DK- Rodgers bounced back big time last week against the Carolina Panthers and will continue that momentum at home this week against the Detroit Lions. He’s a better play on Draftkings, as he is underpriced there but is a top play in all formats this week.
Running Back (RB)
Darren McFadden $7,000 FD $4,900 DK- McFadden has the look of a true workhorse back in Dallas and he’s running great behind the best run blocking line in football. He’s been a lock for 25+ touches a game with Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar out of the picture. Look for him to get rolling against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Todd Gurley $9,200 FD $7,300 DK- A regular feature on this column but I see no reason to get off Gurley. The matchup could not possibly be better, home against the Chicago Bears. I’m expecting the Bears to struggle to move the ball against St. Louis’ defense, leading to another great performance. Expect Gurley to grind it out for 100+ yards and 1-2 touchdowns.
Demarco Murray $7,700 FD $6,200 DK- Demarco has been rolling the last couple weeks as the Eagles have finally been committed to feeding him. The Miami Dolphins run defense has been gashed all year. Murray should not have any trouble finding running lanes.
Wide Receivers (WR)
Julian Edelman $8,000 FD $8,200 DK- With a lot of people expected to be on Brandon Lafell this week as his price is still very cheap, I think this is a good week to get back on Edelman. The Patriots will throw a lot this week and Edelman should be good for around 10 catches.
Allen Robinson $7,500 FD $6,700 DK- Robinson is the #1 receiver for Blake Bortles, my quarterback of the week. Robinson will be targeted early and often this week. He’s a must play.
Tight End (TE)
Jordan Reed $5,800 FD $4,600 DK- When healthy, Reed has been a top 5 tight end this year and a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. He draws a great matchup this week against an opponent who should force Washington to throw quite a bit.
Gary Barnidge $6,100 FD $4,800 FD- Barnidge has been an anomaly all season for the Cleveland Browns, resurrecting his career and becoming one of the best tight ends in the league. The Steelers have struggled all year against the tight end. If Josh McCown starts, he will look to him early and often.
Green Bay $4,900 FD $3,200 DK- One of the best defenses of the year, the Packers draw a great matchup against the turnover prone Detroit Lions. I’m expecting the Packers to massacre the Lions and possible force a defensive touchdown.
Philadelphia $4,700 FD $2,700 DK- The Eagles defense is very aggressive and love to take shots at jumping routes and blitzing. This bodes well going against a suspect Miami Dolphins offense.
Kicker (K) (Fan Duel only)
Josh Brown $4,800 FD- Mid range priced Kicker in what should be the highest scoring matchup of the week.
