Each week, I’ll be bringing you suggestions on good plays for DFS games on Fan Duel (FD) and Draft Kings (DK). After a 1 week hiatus, here are my targets for Week 6
Andrew Luck $8,900 FD $7,600 DK- After a big fantasy day in a loss to the New England Patriots, Luck seemed to settle in after missing 2 weeks from a shoulder injury. With the highest over under of the week against a weak New Orleans Saints defense, Luck is the play if you are going in on a top shelf quarterback.
Carson Palmer $8,200 FD $ 6,700 DK- The Cardinals struggled last week but that did not stop Carson Palmer from throwing for over 400 yards. I do not anticipate him having any trouble carving up a weak Baltimore Ravens defense. He is also still slightly cheaper than his salary should be, IMO.
Phillip Rivers $8,000 FD $6,500 DK- Rivers has been forced to throw the ball quite a bit this season because San Diego’s run game has not thrived. The Raiders come to town this week, setting up a nice bounce back situation from a tough loss at Green Bay.
Running Back (RB)
LeSean McCoy $7,700 FD, $5,500 DK- McCoy’s value has dropped significantly, especially on DraftKings, however he proved last week that he still can carry a team. With injuries to Buffalo’s quarterbacks and wide receivers, I expect the Bills to lean on their ground game and defense to help win this one.
Todd Gurley $7,400 FD $5,000 DK- The Browns have one of the worst defenses against the run and they have to travel on the road to face the Rams who love to run the ball with Todd Gurley. I could see Gurley having a huge day.
Adrian Peterson $8,900 FD $7,600 DK- Adrian Peterson was bottled up last week against the Chiefs which should drive his ownership percentage down in tournaments. I am going back to him because he still is the focal point of their offense and the Lions struggle against the run.
Wide Receivers (WR)
Julio Jones $9,100 FD $9,100 DK- An obvious name here but I think Julio has a huge week. After playing last Thursday, Julio has had an extra few days of rest and is now practicing early in the week – something he had not done much of this year. He should be primed for a huge week.
Michael Crabtree $5,900 FD $4,300 DK- Although San Diego has been statistically one of the best pass defenses, opponents have just found themselves running the ball more against them. I think that Derek Carr is able to air it out against the Chargers and Crabtree has the best matchup on the roster against Brendon Flowers. He is a sneaky tournament play here.
Stefon Diggs $5,800 FD $4,200 DK- Diggs has suddenly become the favorite receiver for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Average over 100 receiving yards over the last two games in the starting lineup, he is a no brainer at this price.
Tight End (TE)
Travis Kelce $6,000 FD $4,900 DK- With Jeremy Maclin possibly out this week with a concussion and Jamaal Charles out for the season, Alex Smith is quickly running out of receiving options. Kelce is the only legitimate threat the Kansas City Chiefs have and I expect him to be targeted often.
Antonio Gates $5,800 FD $5,000 DK- He’s been an obvious name here over the past couple weeks coming off suspension. Gates has been on fire and his price has not risen high. He may be worth avoiding in tournaments due to his high ownership percentage but still makes a great cash game play.
Carolina $4,800 FD $3,100 DK- The Panthers defense has been a big part of Carolina’s undefeated start. Carolina is home this week against an Eagles team that just loves to turn the ball over.
Kicker (K) (Fan Duel only)
Cairo Santos $4,600 FD- The Chiefs are going to struggle all year getting the ball into the end zone. Santos’s price is still cheap enough to give you salary flexibility at other positions. He should have another decent day.
